Below is vital information from the Homeschool Legal Defense Association regarding the healthcare bill vote TOMORROW!!
Congress is set to hold its final up-or-down vote on the health care reform legislation this weekend. This is the largest increase in the size and power of the federal government in over 40 years. HSLDA opposes this legislation and we have previously written about our concerns with the home visitation aspect of this bill.
However, there are numerous other reasons to oppose the health care reform legislation. HSLDA’s physician board member, Rodger Sayre, M.D., has written about additional concerns in the legislation from the perspective of a practicing doctor. You can read his concerns below.
We urge you to make one final phone call to your U.S. representative. The Capitol Switchboard is 202-224-3121. Please do not be discouraged if the switchboard is busy—citizens have had to call back several times due to the switchboard being jammed by the unprecedented number of phone calls. We also urge you to call and visit your U.S. representative’s district office located closest to your home. You can find this information at HSLDA’s Legislative Toolbox.
And finally, if you live near Washington, D.C., we urge you to visit the U.S. Capitol this weekend and personally meet with your representative, and as many other representatives as you can. Numerous rallies and lobbying visits are scheduled for Saturday, March 20, including the opportunity for you and your children to meet members of Congress. Rep. Michele Bachmann (MN), a strong homeschool supporter, is encouraging people to rally on Capitol Hill tomorrow at noon, Saturday, March 20.
